Setting The Vision

In late 2020, the Town of Cramerton and Catawba Riverkeeper came together to create the South Fork River Health Committee. This group includes 6 municipalities, 5 non-profits, a utility and a major for profit business along the South Fork of the Catawba River, the largest tributary in the Catawba River Basin. For 12 months we met to establish priorities for our work that would improve the water quality, flood resiliency, and recreational access of the South Fork to improve the quality of life for our residents and visitors alike.

The South Fork Collective is the name this group has adopted to enter into the active phase of this project. We invite you to explore our website to learn more about the projects we are working on and the partners involved.

A Connected River. An Active River.

A Connected and Active River requires both short and long term projects that connect our communities and residents to the river AND engages them with the river directly.

A Healthy River.
A Resilient River.

A Healthy and Resilient River requires a vision for the long term improvement of the water quality and flood resiliency of our river. Both technical and policy related projects contribute to making our river healthier and more resilient for all.
